Above : The Emperor of China falls in love with the Nightingale's song and orders her to be imprisoned within the palace walls.



Above : The Artificial Nightingale dazzles the Emperor and begins to oust the real Nightingale from his heart.



Above : Without music, the Emperor's life starts slipping away. Ghosts appear to remind him of his good and bad deeds.



Above : When the Emperor agrees to set the Nightingale free, he finally reaches enlightenment.
