Echoes of Home
May, 2005 Echoes of Home : A photography & live performance eventAt the Arts Depot, North Finchley, Saturday 14 May.
Have you ever felt ‘at home’?
Was it a moment, a place, a space, a person?
Did you ever feel you fitted in or that you never belonged?
Echoes of Home is the culmination of a photography and performance project taking a fresh look at the word home and what it means to us today in our global village. Inspired by last season’s HOME exhibition and Veronica Needa’s solo show FACE, a group of people of East Asian origin, have been working with artists, using photography as stimulation and physical theatre as vocabulary, to develop this original piece which reflects their perceptions of home.
Kumiko Mendl (theatre artist), Veronica Needa (theatre artist) & Tony Lam (photographer) worked with a group of folks, mainly of East Asian origin, on Saturday afternoons to create this biographical photography/theatre performance.
