Why the Lion Danced

January, 2011 Celebrate Chinese New Year with Yellow Earth! Every thirteenth moon the dreaded monster Nian pays a visit to the village. The audience, cast in the role of villagers, must protect themselves. Which animal can save them?

Trinity School, Croydon

October, 2010 Residencey at Trinity School to create a performance piece based on the ancient creation myths and using giant puppets from Yellow Earth's production of Running the Silk Road. The piece will be performed at the Specialist Schools and Academy Trust annual conference May 2011.

Knowledge Connect with Central School of Speech and Drama

September, 2010 With funding from Knowledge Connect, Yellow Earth organised a British East Asian facilitators training scheme that ran for 3 days led by Central School of Speech and Drama's Professional and Community Development Department with the view to Yellow Earth running similar courses in the future on a national scale.

Chinese Summer school - West Sussex

July, 2010 Yellow Earth ran workshops throughout the day and performed a storytelling of the Weaving Princess and Herder with musican Zhenghui Qui and dancer Sinman Yue for the organisation's tenth anniversary in the evening

Norwood School, London

July, 2010 Yellow Earth ran a weeks worth of workshops in Balinese masks, Shadow puppets, Chinese music and dance at a secondary school in London.
