Yellow Stages
Yellow Stages is an initiative launched in April 2004 by Yellow Earth and the Young Vic Theatre's Genesis Directors Project to encourage and develop BEA directors. For the past four years, Yellow Earth Theatre and the Young Vic’s Genesis Directors Project have run a series of programmes that involved over 27 East Asian artists (actors and directors).
The project benefited the artists taking part by providing an opportunity to develop directing skills and contacts, and enabled both Yellow Earth Theatre and the Young Vic to establish and develop their creative relationships.
Artists who have taken part have gone on developing their work as directors, some creating their own work and others with various theatre organisations, notably Jonathan Man with Polka Theatre, Shan Pui Ng with Corax Theatre, Jenevieve Chang with Camden People’s Theatre, Lab Ky Mo with Kalm Boy Theatre, Masumi Kako with Ichiza Theatre and Adjjima Na Patalung with Theatre-Rites.
